On May 4th, 2011, LIFT hosted its annual Spring Celebration in New York City. 300 guests gathered at LUX Studio to support LIFT’s work to combat poverty in New York City and around the country, including LIFT’s plans to expand in a new community center in the Bronx.
LIFT CEO and Co-Founder Kirsten Lodal shared her newfound appreciation for the persistence and resilience of LIFT’s client families as a new mom, and rallied audience members to remember that we all– regardless of race, gender, or the zip code of our birth– need people in our corner to succeed, and for LIFT clients, those people are LIFT volunteers.
John Rodin, Event Chair and member of LIFT’s National Board of Directors, encouraged guests to make it a priority that their fellow New Yorkers be afforded options and opportunity and to donate to support LIFT’s work in the year ahead.
