Summer Family Fun at LIFT-Chicago

Nothing says fun like spending some time under the Chicago sun with food, sports and family. And thanks to an invitation from iF Charities, LIFT-Chicago families took part in their annual “All-Star Football and Cheer Camp” this summer. iF Charities, founded by former Chicago Bears defensive end, Israel Idonije, believes in “bringing more people together to transform lives.” And that couldn’t have been clearer than with the sight of more than 150 children, including four LIFT-Chicago families, taking over the field at the University of Illinois at Chicago for the camp.

As parents looked on, children learned cheer routines from the University’s cheerleaders and football drills from coaches of the Chicago Police Department football team the Chicago Enforcers and Brother Rice High School. The free camp also provided a BBQ picnic lunch for families and a backpack full of goodies for the kids. It’s events like these where families are having fun and taking the time to connect with each other that proves why relationships matter at LIFT.

Building foundations of personal well-being and social connections are integral to empowering families to work hard, play harder and share these special moments together. Thanks to iF Charities for inviting LIFT-Chicago to take part in this one-of-a-kind experience!
