This past Mother’s Day at LIFT-Los Angeles, we celebrated all of our hardworking moms with a day full of celebration, courtesy of our friends The Honest Co., Honest Beauty and Union Bank!
The day kicked off with an interview-ready look seminar hosted by Honest Beauty. The team at Honest Beauty gave our moms helpful tips for putting together the best looks to conquer any job interview, and treated our entire group to swag bags filled with goodies to take home.
Later that afternoon, volunteers from Union Bank (a funding and programmatic partner at Magnolia Place providing free savings accounts for our parent members) came to conduct mock interviews with our members. They reviewed resumes, practiced their interview skills and received helpful feedback from the Union Bank staff.
This workshop was part of our Career Pathways work with our members that launched in Spring to support moms in preparing for a powerful career with a living-wage, opportunities for growth and on-the-job training.
