Live Blogging from Opportunity Nation Summit

En Route

For those of you who are not familiar with the Opportunity Nation movement, it is a groundbreaking, bipartisan campaign to promote opportunity, social mobility, and access to the American Dream. Opportunity Nation has built a broad coalition of nearly 200 businesses, non-profits, educational institutions, and military organizations to help create a shared, bipartisan plan to create better skills, better jobs, and better communities. We believe that the zip code you’re born into shouldn’t determine your destiny, and when social mobility grinds to a halt, we are in grave danger of losing a core part of the American identity. We’re launching a national conversation about opportunity in America, and promoting a set of public and private sector ideas to increase it.

The Summit. If you cannot make it to NYC this week, be sure to tune in to the action by registering for the livestream of the conference. We’ll be contributing to the conversation, and we hope you will too.

Hi all! We’ll be live blogging over the next 3 days from the Opportunity Nation Summit in New York City to share quotes, ideas, opinions, photos, and video from the event and to keep the dialogue moving about economic opportunity and social mobility in Ameica. Everyone at LIFT is incredibly excited to be playing a leadership role in the Opportunity Nation campaign and kicking things off Thursday, November 3rd at the Apollo Theater, followed by the conference at Columbia University on Friday, November 4th.
