Going for the Goal with LIFT-Los Angeles

Our friends at the Karsh Family Social Service Center generously donated multiple boxes of children’s soccer t-shirts, shorts and jerseys (shown above) to LIFT-Los Angeles. Karsh Family Social Service Center’s Associate Director of Operations Frances Nova was a volunteer at LIFT a few years back and always keeps her LIFT family in mind whenever clothing and food donations are available through her center.

We gave out the cool and coveted soccer gear at the LIFT-Los Angeles Holiday Fiesta in December, picked up more after the holidays and then distributed that second load of gear to our members and their kiddos over the last couple of months.

Not too long ago, our Operations Associate Fredy introduced us to LA Scores, an after school nonprofit youth soccer league that is always in need of sports donations for its participants. Fredy attended Palms Elementary School where LA Scores began their work with children through soccer and poetry. Though he was never fully active, his younger sister was involved in the program and he noticed her love for soccer and writing increase. LA Scores teaches children that writing is power and teamwork makes the dream work. Fredy has a passion for soccer and youth empowerment and knew this donation would be a great way to give back to an organization that provides the best of both worlds.

Because sharing is caring, we gave the extra donations to LA Scores to support their great work in the community. In response to receiving jerseys for her kids, our parent member Brenda told us “thank you, LIFT, for always thinking of us.”
