We have set in motion an ambitious action plan to make 2012 our most successful year ever. With the addition of three new Program Managers across our regions this winter, we are looking forward to improving our advocate training, resource development, and program performance over the course of the year. We are thrilled to be bringing the LIFT model to the West Coast with our L.A. expansion and grateful for the dedication of key supporters in making it happen, including musician and activist − and new National Board of Directors member − Ben Harper. Ben is joined by Heather Cox of Capital One and Michele Jolin of the Center for American Progress as the newest additions to our National Board of Directors
We are also committed to making economic opportunity a key national issue in 2012. We continue to see persistent stereotypes and misrepresentations of people living in poverty and we know that the stories of our clients go largely untold. We aim to bring those stories to light across news outlets, social media, and advocacy efforts, and we hope that they culminate in helping to influence national attention and action in the 2012 Presidential election.
